LOW BLOOD PRESSURE AND A DISEASED KIDNEY

Generally, kidneys respond to the changes in the blood pressure of the body. The production of urine depends on the fluctuations of the blood pressure.  Urine is primarily the excess water that is expelled out of the blood. When kidneys produce more urine, the volume of the blood flowing in the veins and the arteries decreases, this results in low blood pressure. When kidneys make less urine the circulating blood volume increases leading to the condition of huh bold pressure or hypertension. Kidney disease with low blood pressure

Managing the blood pressure for a chronic kidney patient is a big task. Hypertension i.e. chronic high blood pressure is a common symptom experienced in pre-dialysis condition. Blood pressure is regularly checked for patients who are conducting dialysis, especially in Hemodialysis. In this type of dialysis treatment, there is a major complication of intradialytic hypotension (IDH) which occurs nearly around 25% in these sessions. This can cause other complications like autonomic nervous system dysfunction, cardiovascular diseases and increased plasma level of an end product of nitric oxide metabolism.

Patients conducting hemodialysis, who come across such a condition of intradialytic hypotension become more prone to myocardial ischemia and stress-induced myocardial dysfunction than those who do not experience IDH. Kidney disease with low blood pressure
